I have never "flipped the bird" - not ever. I don't get why a teenage idol like Justin Bieber, with millions of adoring underage fans, would do such a thing. If my young daughter was infatuated with him, this behavior would end any of my funds going his way, (Since my daughter is 25, no worries in that area.) Just a difference of opinion, or moral issue? Don't actually know.
It's a crude gesture to be sure....unfortunately, being crude has become a part of every day life. There's so much we tolerate every day and I wish it weren't so! I often think that I was born in the wrong time (I know I was born exactly when I was supposed to be...God makes no mistakes), because I feel like I have an old soul. I actually love the 20s, 30s, 40s and some into the 50s when women and men DRESSED to go out in public. Where there was more civility. I know those eras had their issues, but vulgarity wasn't one of them! Hugs this Monday morning! ~Serene
ReplyDeleteThanks, Serena! Life is so much more fun when you don't think you are the only one with a particular view. That's one of the reasons I think blogging is so good for our health - plus I get to see you in such pretty outfits.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of young people do things like that. I know I did, thinking it was cool at the time. Then I learned it wasn't such a good idea when I flipped a guy off in a parking lot and he got out of his car and starting screaming at me. I knew it was not a nice thing and did it without thinking. He sure scared the dickens out of me and taught me not to do that again! I was young and dumb. Hopefully, Justin will realize the error of his ways just like I did.
ReplyDeleteI've never made the gesture either. Not that I haven't felt like it at times, but I seem to lack the manual dexterity for it.
