My daughter Amanda emailed me yesterday to be sure we got back to Tulsa OK - and to chide me (don't you love that term - it's the equivalent of a nudge) for ignoring my blog while I was in Hawaii. What can I say - the Beaches were magnificent and the Internet wasn't.
And the food was so good - this was our lunch at Mama's on Maui. Save your money for a meal at Mama's if you go to Maui - it's the one that you'll remember when you get home. You'll find locals and tourists eating there.
You know a vacation is a vacation and I generally don't post while on vacation either but I take lots of pics for later.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, that food looks wonderful. We have been thinking about Hawaii for our vacation this year and the food provides another dimension to the whole equation.
I applaud your neglect of the interwebs and playing in the Hawaiian sun! Good for you! Your view, and you look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHi Yogi - I love going to Honolulu, but since John was there for business, we had to go to Maui too. I'm never really comfortable vacationing there. On Maui, I feel like I'm in someone's backyard. But the food was exceptional.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bella! And I thought of you when I bought my outfit - Shop Second Hand First!
ReplyDeleteI think you can be forgiven for ignoring your blog while in Hawaii. What great pictures of the beautiful blue water. And the food looks fantastic. You lucky person!
ReplyDeleteBeryl! Congratulations on not feeling the need to tweet or real time record your every movement in Hawaii! Sometimes I think that all the Internet stuff tricks us into thinking that if we don't post, tweet, blog, or Instagram it, it didn't happen!! You look great! It's fun seeing your picture on your log!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous holiday spot!
ReplyDeleteDon't blame you a bit for enjoying Hawaii. That necklace is incredible and isn't thrift shopping satisfying?!
ReplyDeleteWhat great sweaters and they do make the perfect foil for your necklace.
ReplyDeleteHawaii... sigh... haven't been in years. Maybe I should look up airfare.
Darla
Hi Sanda - The water was beautiful, but surprisingly cold. But I'm not an ocean swimmer - give me a salt water pool any day.
ReplyDeleteHi Serena - And I love seeing the pictures of you on your blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn - The scenery in the background of your pictures always makes me want to go somewhere tropical.
ReplyDeleteHi Shelley - I do think thrift shopping in Oklahoma is better than any place else I have ever been. But I have never tried it in the UK. My daughter is thinking of spending the Summer in Lyon, so I'm going to direct her to those wonderful pictures on your blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Darla - The last few times we've gone to Honolulu, we've flown from San Diego because it was so much cheaper than any other place on the West Coast. No idea why.
ReplyDeleteOh, Wow, you have been to Hawaii while we've been hiding out in a flood and storm! Absolutely love your necklace with the green knit. What an excellent find. Food and sea photos are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia - I hope it stays nice where you are for the rest of the year. I was in Tulsa yesterday for a huge storm and Tornado watch while my husband was away on a business trip - so I hope you were not alone for your cyclone. Thanks for the compliment on my photos - John got me a new camera for Christmas and I am getting the hang of it. It takes much better pictures.
