Now I Officially Feel Old

Do you remember M C Hammer - inventor of Hammer-time and those odd pants that I can't remember the name of. Well, for some sad reason he was arrested at a mall in Northern California. And the NBC news anchor did not know how to properly pronounce his name. She called him "Mac Hammer" as if he was a special at Mc Donald's. I had to run the tape back and listen to her three times, refusing to believe that a news anchor at a major network in one of the top markets in America had never heard of M C Hammer. Oh well, at least she was young and attractive. As to M C, innocent until proven guilty.

    Hi Carolyn - Those pants were pretty bad, but the new Drape Drape sewing book had pants that might look a lot like them. (Or was it the new Shape Shape book?)

    OH No!!! I love MC Hammer. He came from Oakland and at my hip hop class we are actually doing one of his songs. Those pants were criminal - but you know what? They are back in. My husband keeps talking me off the edge off buying a pair!

    Hi Jody - I always enjoyed watching him. As to the Hammer Pants, they are showing them with the most interesting tops. I keep thinking I should sew a pair, but can't help remembering what my children looked like in an ill-fitted diaper in need of a change. Not that different!

    The pants are dhoti style.

    Hi Anne - How cool are you?? I would love one of those dolls and Boomboxes - I am a sucker for miniaturization. I couldn't not remember his other catch-phrase, so thanks for that. Did you ever get your Vitamix? My whole family either has them or wants one. I'm intrigued.
