What a hoot those dressed-up dogs are! Love the butterfly outfit. I'm so jealous of your gasoline prices. Wow! How? Ours has gone down a bit the past couple of weeks; is now $3.38 for regular unleaded.
$3.00 per gallon of gas just does my head in. When I started driving, gas was 24 cents a gallon, bread was 10 cents and a pack of cigarettes was 50 cents. I feel 1000 years old! I've just done some math on the price of diesel here: £1.44 per litre. A litre is .264 of a US gallon and the current exchange rate is .62p/$1, so we presently pay $8.78 per gallon of diesel; $8.48 for unleaded gas. Hmmm, maybe $3.00 isn't so bad after all. (Now you know why I walk a lot!)
Beryl, I'm driving to your town to get gas!! The next car I get will be a hybrid...I don't want to be confined by gas prices! Btw, thanks for your comment....for me cashmere is still a luxury, but occasionally I will find it thrifting. Always a score when that happens!! Hugs my friend! Serene
Oh Shelley - Now you've gone and made me feel old too. I remember that it took an hour of babysitting to buy a gallon of gas, so that 25 cents figure is about right for when I started driving, too. Most of your walks just sound like fun, even if gas were still cheap.
Hey Serene - I love finding cashmere at the thrift stores. I can sleep in it when it gets too old to look good. I hope you thought my comment was funny - I'd always been amused by those little clothes tags that my mother-in-law had kept.

ReplyDeleteHi Sanda - $3.38 per gallon still sounds good to my kids in California. The Butterfly dog was also the sweetest little girl!
