And She Gave A Little Cough

My cat is limping. It's just like when the soap opera actress says, with dismay, "and then my script says - give a little cough", since she knows she will be dead within the week. She is being written out of the show. My cat, Tillie (Chantilly Lace) started limping yesterday. At 22 years old, she has been pampered to the point that she only eats kitty treats, since that's what makes her happy and they have everything she needs to survive. She's not a kitten who needs specific food for growth and she's not overweight and needing low cal foods. At 22, the vet isn't going to fix her limp. She's going to suggest we just let her go. If by Friday, she hasn't by some miracle started walking again, we will have to go see that vet. Maybe they have new treatments for 22 year old cats?

  1. Oh, dear Beryl . . . I will be hoping for her recovery. She is beautiful and has such a beautiful mama and home. I'll be thinking of you.

  3. Aw, sweet kitty. Hopefully, she's thinking something like, "Hey! It's a hangnail! I'm not giving up that easily!" I am sending healing wishes to her and best wishes to you.

  6. Hey Debbi, She looked that good last month, but she is at least 110in human years and I think she has given up. (I can understand.)
I thought about you this afternoon when I found some of my mother-in-law's costume jewelry in one of the unpacked moving boxes. There is one bracelet that I will post a picture of pretty soon. It is two rows of marquis shaped white glass beads in chrome color metal. So different, like your unique jewelry.

  8. Oh, I hope your kitty is improved by now. 22 years is about as old a cat as I've ever know. She must be living right!

  9. Hi Terri and Sanda - She was just too old, I guess, but she had a really good life. 22 good years, but I have the feeling if she had lived much longer, she wouldn't have enjoyed it.

  10. What a beauty and 22, incredible. We had three of ours live to the ripe old age of 17.

  11. Hi Jill - Three cats to the age of 17? You must be doing something right. Or is it Oklahoma? I have had the best luck with my plants here.
