I enjoy the Salma Hayek line from CVS Pharmacies. The hair products are great at controlling my curly hair without making it all stiff. The lipstick is wonderful all the time and the eye make-up is perfect for those times when you want dramatic Salma Hayek eyes. I wash my face with her Chamomile cleanser and the Clarisonic and exfoliate with her Wild Lime Gel, following with the AM/PM Super Cream (in the picture). But my point, and I do have one, is why on earth do I keep that inner extra seal after opening the jar? It is one more step to get to the product and the jar will be empty in a month or two. Anything else you open with an inner seal, like sour cream, peanut butter, or olive oil, that inner extra goes right in the trash. What am I thinking?
I didn't even know she had a line! I'm going to have to stop by CVS and check it out! Hugs! ~Serene
ReplyDeleteI have not tried these products; will check them out at CVS. I can identify with your habit of keeping the inner seal on beauty products, as I do the same thing! I suppose we rationalize it'll stay fresh longer, especially on the ones that last for 3 months.
ReplyDeleteHi Serene and Sanda! Do try her stuff - if you watch, you can get it on sale. Usually buy one and get another for 50% off. I am so glad someone else saves those seals. I hadn't considered the freshness; it just feels a little more elegant to have to break into the jar as if it was new every time.
ReplyDeleteWell, yet again, we don't have a CVS. It does sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteHm, I don't save inner liners...but there must be a reason for them. I'm curious about the Clarisonic thing, as it is something I've considered shopping at Nordstrom's when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbi - Let me know if you want me to send you any samples from here. (The shampoo for dry hair is really nice, but your hair looks pretty healthy, so you might want the normal.) If you love it, you can do mail order. There is plenty of great beauty stuff out there, however the Blue Agave leave-in Hair Cream is exceptionally good on my hair and the Wild Lime exfoliating Gel seems unique too.
ReplyDeleteHey Terri - If I was going to buy another Clarisonic, I would go to HSN (not Ebay, since you need the sonic part to work, not just the brush spinning around, and on Ebay, you can't be sure it's working right) and order the Nutrasonic (30 day money back - including shipping guarentee). I wanted to have one both places, and got the Nutrasonic since it was lots cheaper, and left it in California, since I'm there less often. Turns out, I like the Nutrasonic better - more speeds and lighter weight.
ReplyDeleteI save the seals as I figure it keeps the air from drying out the cream or other product underneath; the lids usually fit tightly, but not always.
