Every once in a while my husband and I will look at each other after some comment one of us has made and say "That's why we're married!"Just now, John looked at the clock and looked over at me and said, "At almost this exact moment, 100 years ago, the Titanic struck the Iceberg". He still can give me goose bumps, after all these years.
OK. We know John's super cool--but this takes the cake!
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
how sweet that is. Beryl, how did you make out with the storms predicted there for today? Hope all is well. We are having a short vacation on the "Redneck Riveria."
ReplyDeleteThis put a smile on my face:-) Love reading your blog, Beryl. Hope all is well with you. XO Jeanne
ReplyDeleteYep, Catherine, John is really something! And he's all mine! (Those statements are like the Chinese or Japanese words that mean something entirely different based on inflection.) But in this case it sounds very happy.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanne - Your Flat Stanley project comment on Catherine's blog had me smiling! Are you in the path of any of this weather?
ReplyDeleteHi Sanda - Hope you are enjoying your vacation on the "Redneck Riveria". Once again, you have me running to Google a new thing. It sounds like a fun place to be!
ReplyDeleteWe are safe and sound, but had some real noise going on. We can't get our new dog(s) until after my daughter's wedding, but hope to be able to figure out how to keep dogs from being afraid of thunder. Curiously, during a particularly loud clash, I thought of your dogs and wondered how they coped with weather. It rained constantly in Seattle, but there was almost never thunder, and when there was, it was pretty tame.
The sky was dark for about two days and wonderful breezes and felt about 70 degrees....sweet! Our electric storms start around mid June and they are pretty frightning. Then hurricanes set in till October...I guess that is the price we pay for all of the beautiful sunny days and Mickey:-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Passed through Redneck riviera on the way to NO....beautiful....love that area of Florida.
ReplyDeleteHi again, Jeanne - I saw FLorida for the first time last March and could not believe how beautiful it was. Electric storms and hurricanes - I knew there must be some drawback to living there. But the Key Lime Pie makes up for it!
ReplyDeleteIt sure does, especially if the Key Lime Pie is from Key West:-)
ReplyDeleteHi Beryl, we are back home again. We kenneled the dogs, wait, no, we checked them into the Paradise Pet Resort and Spa! This is the first time we've ever left them! We were like worried parents about a new babysitter. Picked them up this morning and they were quite well but very happy to see us! Neither of our dogs are afraid of thunderstorms, but our last Golden was terrified. I believe it's genetic and is not unique to any specific breed. Just see if the dog parents are afraid and if they are not you should be OK with their pup.
ReplyDeleteHi Sanda - Glad you have found a luxury dog hotel. It makes it so much more fun to get away, when you don't have to worry about them. I never had thunder on the West Coast, but in Tulsa, I will have to expect it. So thanks for the advice to check the dog's parents. It makes sense that a dog that is calm during a storm has a good chance of having pups that are also calm.
ReplyDeleteJeanne - I have been wanting Key Lime Pie for the laat week, but since I'm nowhere near Key West, I have "settled" for Key Lime Yogurt!
