I was pretty excited when my mother started looking at the newest sewing machines, because I knew she would give me this beauty! And yesterday I went to my sister Lynne's and used it to make this costume out of some of her stash. It's safety pinned in the back and doesn't have the ruffles on the sleeves yet, but it worked well for the Pub Quiz.

ReplyDeleteSince it was for Quiz Night at the Pub, I tried to coordinate with my son, Zach. Since he went as an Italian Plague Doctor (which looks a lot like the Black Spy in the old Mad Magazine cartoon - Spy vs Spy), I was an Italian Plague Victim (1630), except I thought I still had some green face makeup, but didn't. So I was a still healthy looking victim.

ReplyDeleteHi Shelley - I'll bet your class is fun. I still love my Bernina 850, which is nearly 40 years old, and use it often. Since it's mechanical, I don't have to worry about having my magnetic pin cushions near it, or having the "motherboard" wear-out. And it's in a cheery red case.
