Hard To Believe I Was Really In Hawaii

Hawaii is just a memory now.  But the one nice thing is having a cooler night for sleeping - 8 degrees our first night home!
Yes, that's my sweetie working since this was a business trip for him.
This place was supposed to have the best burger in Hawaii - a bean burger, of all things.  I am the one who always has the vege-burger if it sounds interesting.  In Oregon there is a small chain called Burgerville which has a bean burger that is as good as this one - but the Hawaiian one has a better bun and lettuce.  Plus they made a wonderful Coconut Cake.  But oddly for us, John is the one who got the bean burger and I had shredded pork.  Best I ever ate.
 Delicious!
Northshore had record waves and advisories - we stayed out of the surf.
But back at Waikiki Beach, the water was fine.

    1. Oh SB, you are so sweet to notice! My mother is French, so I expect nothing less than frank admiration.

  2. Sounds lovely Beryl, Oh how I wish I was there. Have not been to Waikiki but swaying palm trees, white sand beaches, blue skies, all good in that land!

    1. Hi Jody - I know you're from NZ, but I will mention that the beaches were full of Australians getting away from their sweltering heat. It was perfect temperature and total beauty.

  3. Oh, my feet are ice cubes at the moment, so that warm beach does look enticing. Thank goodness for fires and throws. Glad you had a good time; coming back to real life can be a shock sometimes!

    1. Hi Shelley - You remember telling me that if I didn't like the weather in Oklahoma to just wait a bit and it will change - well, I am officially tired of waiting for it to warm up. I drug out some old ski socks and long underwear, so I am not as miserable now. As much as I love our apartment, it is lacking a fireplace.

  4. Hawaii looks beautiful, just as I expected it would. It's so cold and rainy here at the moment, we could do with a bit of that sunshine!

    1. Hi Jay - I was surprised at how much more fun I have in Hawaii when I'm missing freezing cold weather at home. Hope the sunshine comes your way soon!

    1. Hi Patricia - We had cool snow fall today, and as long as I don't have to drive in it, I do enjoy it too.

  6. Looks like you had a great get away. Never had a bean burger. Maybe I need to go to Hawaii and try one. Any excuse, LOL!

    1. Hi Darla - I do recommend a trip to Hawaii for you, but if you don't want to go that far, Portland has Burgervilles with the best Bean Burger I have ever had. And Downtown Portland is a lot like a little European city for a great Summer getaway!

  7. Never had a bean burger. Hawaii would be nice right now. Imagine you wish you were back there for the weather. Your hubby does get around doesn't he?

    1. Hi Sanda - It is snowing right now, which I love when I don't have to get anywhere - but I do wish I was warmer. John seldom went anywhere until our children were in college, but now he goes all sorts of places.

    1. Hi Yogi - It is pretty nice - but I would settle for Florida and Allegiant Air is flying there from Tulsa for around $50.
