Got to tour George Washington's home yesterday evening. Pretty amazing. It is privately owned by a group of women who purchased it in the mid 1800's. No public funds are ever used to maintain it. The view of the Potomac River from the back is quite beautiful. It's raining so much in Washington DC that these are probably the only pictures I'll get here. But should get back to Tulsa tomorrow and then I can add some Ireland pictures.
Wow - Mt. Vernon! There's a surprise. You will have been acclimatised to rain by the time you left Ireland, right? Looking forward to greeeeeen photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelley - The Washington DC trip was for business and the tour of Mount Vernon with a dinner following was so interesting. We actually had better weather in Ireland, but you are so right about how green it is. Like an Oklahoma Spring all year round.

ReplyDeleteHi Jody - A heat wave? Oakland can get kind of muggy when it's too hot. I have only been to DC when my husband goes on business, so whatever I see is dictated by others.- and Mt Vernon and Hillwood have been two great sights to see.
