Came to Sacramento tonight for a training session put on by John's coworker, Rick. Had dinner with him and the amazing Janice Hill, who works in the same field. (Doesn't she look young to have her own company with lots of employees? This is what they mean when they describe someone as "self-made".) Had Thai food - from the Phad Thai to the Sticky Rice Pudding with Mango, all delicious.
So can you tell I'm pretty uninspired tonight? I'm full of good food and just feel like going to sleep - so I'm going to.
Luckily I got to see all my Sacramento relatives at my mother's 90th Birthday this month, because this trip is looking like mainly work related.
Look at all those empty plates! You must have liked the food. Never been to Sacramento. What's it like there?
ReplyDeleteHappy 90th Birthday to your Mum! So many bloggers have parents alive into their nineties, including me. Wonderful. You look great!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue outfit, you look great! What a long trip, when will you be back in OK?

Hi Shelley - It was good Thai food, for sure! Sacramento is a lot like Tulsa, but at about 65% - the weather swings from too hot to too cold and back again, but the extremes are as high/low as Tulsa. Sort of wide openness with small downtown.
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia - I was having such a good time.
ReplyDeleteI think it's remarkable how vibrant and alive most of our 90 year old parents are.
Hi Simone - My trip keeps getting extended with John's business trips to contend with. But I should be back on Tuesday night. I am ready to be home. I have tried to find your last email so I could get something planned, but with this petulant computer, I have a backlog of 100's of email. I was so proud of myself for remembering that there was a "3" in your email address, so I searched for any "3"'s in order to find yours. But since it's March, every email has a 3, so I will write when I get back to Tulsa, where I actually had the forethought to have written down the address. Remember when you told me that Simone was such an unusual name - well, my ancestor who qualifies me to become a member of the Daughter's of the American Republic was named Simone.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have an ancestor (sort of) named Beryl, more like my Granny's cousin I think, so a generation or two before you.
ReplyDeleteIt's double3s at gmail - see you when you get back, no worries, I figured you'd pop up eventually.
