Happy Fourth Of July - Oh, And Before I Forget, The Movie The Lone Ranger Is Unbelievably Bad Until The Last 25 Minutes

Happy Fourth of July!  In the time honored tradition of Independence Day cooking, tonight's meal was Grilled Hot Dogs and Corn on the Cob. But, as anyone who knows me knows, I gave it as healthy a twist as possible. Those Hot Dogs were Zero-Fat Chicken Bratwurst. And the corn was so fresh it didn't need any butter or salt. And instead of a bowl of chips, I had a bowl of Salad.
Good Times!

    1. Thanks Patricia! A lot of places make chicken sausages, and if you shop around you can find the low fat ones. I know it's said that you have to have a bit of fat in them, but my health is more important and they taste almost as good. After a while, you find you prefer no fat in your sausages, because of how much better you feel after eating them.

  2. Yum - Looks wonderful. I don't do BBQs here, the weather is too unpredictable (though the last few days have actually been in 70s with little wind, so a great summer for us!).

    1. In the 70's sounds pleasant. Now that I live in Oklahoma, I understand why the "no wind" part is so special. I have had a couple scarves blown right off my neck. But I was warned by the song - "OOOh Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain!" Glad you're having some nice Summer!

  3. Oh, and I meant to ask what happens in the last 25 minutes? Sounds like I'll be giving that one a miss (didn't even know it was out...).

    1. Oh Shelley, there is so much action at the end of the movies, it almost made up for the rest. Lots of trains and fight scenes, but also cute interactions with the characters. The actor, Armie Hammer, who played the Lone Ranger was perfect for the part as I remember the TV guy. It would be a good renter with your finger on the fast-forward button. (That's how I watched Braveheart.)
