Mama Owl All Fluffed Up, Drying Out After Last Night's Storm

This picture was actually taken by John, and (other than two public domain pictures of notable persons and a few iPhone snaps of me) is the first picture on my blog that I didn't take - so I am passing all the compliments on to him.  He deserves them - this is a great shot!

    1. Thanks Patricia, but I should admit that John took the picture while I was in the bathroom this morning. And it does show just how big she is, so I'll bet that as long as she was sitting on them, her chicks spent the night warm and dry.!

  5. Fantastic owl photo. Was he using a zoom lens? I love hearing the owls. A lonesome sound; nevertheless, soothing and comforting sound.

    1. Hi Sanda - He was using my new camera with the zoom on max. We stay far away from these guys. They used to keep me awake, but I agree that after you're used to it, it does sound soothing.

  6. It's a great photo, but some of the kudos have to go to the bird itself. That is one gorgeous creature!

    1. My Sweetie is good at everything he does, so I'm not surprised that when he picks up my camera he comes up with a fantastic shot. And, of course, Mrs Owl is a fabulous model!
