It Wasn't Even On Sale

Someone asked me today if I really liked blogging.  I immediately thought of this picture.  Why?  Because it is the first picture including that little 6 egg ceramic container.  I bought it from Target and (this is important) I didn't even wait for it to go on sale.  I wanted it so I could take pictures while I was cooking without worrying about all my eggs rolling around on the counter.  And it is cute, right?  So, yes, I do like blogging, or I would have no real use for this little indulgence.

I might as well explain what these pictures are about, while I'm at it.  I made brownies this week for my Stamp Club.  I topped them while hot with some left over White and Dark Chocolate Dove Easter Eggs, and covered them with foil until they made a melty delicious mess.  One of the ladies at Stamp Club (all fabulously talented, creative women) asked if I did something special to have made a Fudge Style Brownie that actually raised like a cake.  So I told her how I separated the eggs and mixed everything together with just the yolks, whipped the egg whites stiff and then folded them in just before baking.  When she asked if it would work with a mix, I just had to take the challenge and try it.  Seemed a good Midnight Snack for Terri's Slumber Party.  Worked just as well.  But now I'm sorry to have used up all the Easter Eggs!

  3. HaHa; you are too funny. I can so identify with your buying the ceramic egg holder! I have never seen one. The brownies sound delicious. Are you a stamp collector? I used to be but haven't kept up that hobby in a long time.

  5. Hi Serene! I identify with you in the using lots of eggs department. I could eat them for every meal. When my boys were home, I could scramble 2 dozen eggs, and they would be gone in seconds. In those days, I wouldn't even waste refrigerator space on those eggs. I just put them in the cutest wire basket shaped like a chicken and left them on the counter.
PS:I loved the scarf I got from your Ebay store!

  6. Hi Sanda - When I first started babysitting in Junior High, I started collecting Postage Stamps and traveled the world (in my mind) with them. After I could afford real travel, I started making cards and using Rubber Stamps, which is what my Stamp Club does. We make mostly greeting cards, some of which I occasionally have on my blog. But a lot of the time, when I make a really good card, I can hardly wait for the special recipient to get it. So like all my pictures of cooking that don't show the finished product, since I have already served and eaten it before I remember to take the final picture, many of my cards have been sent without there being a picture to post. I admire people with impulse control.
