Couple's Evening Entertainment

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is such a nice film for a couple to watch.  Marilyn from the pool suggested it to me during a lull in water aerobics.  (I love Marilyn - I love her big happy smile and smart, sage advice on local customs.)  It doesn't replace Cold Comfort Farm as my favorite, but I could happily watch it a  few more times.  But the big plus is that John enjoyed it, too.  Thanks, Marilyn!

  1. Thanks for the recommendation, I am looking forward to checking out that one soon too :)
Happy birthday for last Friday! I hope it was a good one.

  2. Hi Carolyn - My birthday was great! I don't know if you ever got to Dallas, but it is like nothing else. I always feel like I'm celebrating when I go there, so doing my birthday there was just perfect.

  3. It was a great book, but I've not seen the film. Cold Comfort Farm is one of the few films Bill will sit through; it's a great one isn't it!? I thought of you on the ferry from Amsterdam to North Shields when I saw the cinema was showing Dark Shadows!! I had no idea it had Michelle Pfeiffer in it! Sadly, we'd already booked a table in the restaurant at the showing time.

I see from the trailer it is a comedy - not at all like the old soap (though it was pretty laughable at times). At 12-13 I took it very seriously. Must see Dark Shadows with Bill - he might even like it!
