One Step Closer To Pesto!

Last night was the first night that my seedlings spent outside. (Even the ones that grew from my 11 cent Okra seeds!) All night long! I'm so proud.

  1. I want to grow an herb garden on our balcony! I may have to get a honkin' big flower pot and grow some! I'm inspired! Hugs! ~Serene

  2. Eleven cents for okra seed: now that's a bargain! Here's hoping you don't have to pull your seedlings back inside, what with a possible frost next week Let us hope the weatherman is wrong!

  4. Hi Serene - The huge pot was less than $10 at Home Depot. And I'm having fun planting in it. But my herbs are in a long narrow planter that I found at Walmart for around $7. John got some braces to fis it up on the railing, so we still have a little space left to sit out there.

  5. Hey Sanda! I bought a bunch of seeds at Walmart that were super cheap. And they all came up. The expensive Thyme seeds ($1.19) were the only ones that didn't grow.
Frost next week? Oh no! I really admire the weather men - they are so good around here. On the West Coast, we never took them seriously. In Seattle, they would just say "cloudy", and in Southern California, it would be "mild". Now in the Midwest, I'm learning the term "severe".

  6. Well Terri, when I make Pesto, I always make enough to share. And pasta is my favorite thing to put it on, too.
